OPEN
Success in building both business and communities comes from staying open to new ideas. Our Chamber is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to businesses and residents that keep our members and this community up to date on current events, personal & professional growth, issues affecting the workplace, and other valuable tools to help the entrepreneur and manager.
Our regular business development and educational programs include: Economic Forecast in February; One-on-One Legislative Dialogue in March; Business Show in April; Awards Dinner in May; Golf Tournament in June; Legislative Dialogue with Mayors and Supervisors in September; Labor and Employment Law Update in October and Thanksgiving Luncheon in November.
Education/Workforce Initiatives
One goal of our Chamber is to focus on effectively supporting and communicating the education/workforce needs of Chamber member businesses and schools, through the Chamber's non profit affilliate organization, Greater Binghamton Education Outreach Program (GBEOP).
• Businesses can participate in GBEOP'S On-The-Job Training (OJT) Program, which provides skill development to eligible individuals while in permanent, full time jobs and fosters the retention of these individuals in long-term employment.
• Businesses and educators can participate in GBEOP’s Building Bridges (BB) Program, which highlights the “real-world” needs of businesses to educators in an 8-week facilitated program.
• Businesses and educators can participate in GBEOP’s Junior Achievement (JA) Program, which introduces a civic-based curriculum focused on entrepreneurialism, financial literacy, and workplace readiness through business volunteers in our K-12 institutions.
Community Leadership
As members, we form a partnership to support and promote the greater Binghamton business community. Our partnerships are critical for the community's success. The Chamber provides unique opportunities for individuals and businesses to foster this business-community relationship.
• Annual Award recognition for Civic Leader, Community Advocate, Corporate Citizen, Small Business Advocate, Small Business Person, Volunteer, and Employee of the Month/Year.
